The One Million Bones project was created to call attention to the horrors of genocides, past and present. It asks for participants to create bones by hand (from clay, wood, paper and tape) in recognition of the millions of victims killed and survivors who have been displaced by these mass atrocities in countries such as Burma, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Beyond raising global awareness, One Million Bones has partnered with StudentsRebuild.org which will donate $1 for every bone created, up to $500,000. These critical funds will be used to protect and aid displaced and vulnerable survivors.
On April 28th, the One Million Bones National Day of Action will see installations of 2500 bones at each of the 50 state capitols. thinkpeace workshop for girls is spearheading these efforts in both New York and California. In May 2013 these bones will be combined with others to create an installation of One Million Bones on the National Mall in Washington, DC. If you would like more information on our bone making events or would like to contribute bones to this incredible display of art activism, please contact us.
A year ago thinkpeace workshop for girls proudly contributed 2000 origami cranes for the StudentsRebuild challenge to raise funds to rebuild areas of Sendai, Japan which were devastated by the tsunami and earthquake. We’ve been called to action again and hope that you will join us… and that someday the world will live as one.
Imagine.

thinkpeace workshop for girls asks you to contribute to our panty campaign!
Everyday women and girls in Haiti and Zimbabwe struggle for food, shelter, education, and the bare essentials that make life comfortable. They live with little to call their own due to extreme poverty caused by environmental, social, and political consequences.
We can make a profound difference in the lives of women and girls today by providing new panties to them. Our donations will boost their self-esteem and give them the confidence they need to carry out their daily activities.
Colorful panties for women and girls of all sizes are needed. We’re about halfway to our goal– we’re committed to sending 5,000 panties by the end of the year! Help us today by joining the campaign. Please mail packages of new, colorful panties of all sizes to thinkpeace workshop for girls P.O. Box 1204 Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
